Game Day:

Today the Johnstown Chiefs (39-30-2) and the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies (41-22-8) meet for the fifth time this season. This is the final regular season game for both teams. The Chiefs are fresh off a 6-1 win last night at home, over the Greensboro Generals. Shaun Sutter lead the way for Johnstown scoring two goals and adding an assist. Ryan Townsend, Philippe Roy, Eric Schneider, and Jim Leger all scored goals for the Chiefs. Dany Sabourin made 17 saves for his 14th win of the season. The win clinched third place in the Northwest division for the Chiefs. Atlantic City suffered a 3-2 loss at home last night to the Trenton Titans. The Bullies got goals from Marc Loeding and Stefan Rivard. Scott Stirling made 21 saves in the defeat.

Johnstown/Atlantic City Season Series:

This is the fifth and final time the two teams will meet in the regular season. The Chiefs are 2-2-0 against the Bullies this season despite being outscored 9-11. Both of the Johnstown wins have come at the War Memorial.

Chiefs Notes:

The Chiefs broke the franchise record for most points in a season (80) with last night's win over Greensboro. The 1993-94 team had 78 points.......The Chiefs are tied with Roanoke for the most power play goals (81) in the ECHL.........Rob Sandrock leads all ECHL defenseman with 45 assists, and is second amongst blueliners in scoring with 56 PTS.....Sandrock has recorded an assist in five straight games.....Dany Sabourin is 3-1-0 with a 1.98 GAA and a 0.930 save percentage in his last 4 starts......Dan Carlson has 3 goals and 5 assists (8 PTS), and is a +5 in his last seven games......The Chiefs are looking for their 40th win of the season today. The last time a Johnstown professional hockey team won 40 games in a season was the 1975-76 Johnstown Jets when they had 47 wins (74 game season).

Boardwalk Bullies Notes:

An Atlantic City win and a Charlotte loss today will give the Bullies home ice in the first round of the playoffs. The Bullies will be facing Charlotte in the first round......Atlantic City has lost two straight games, however they are 7-3-0 in their last ten games......Luke Curtin leads the ECHL with 347 shots.......Curtin has 8 goals and 6 assists (14 PTS) in his last 9 games......The Bullies are 5 for 26 (19%) on the power play in four games vs. Johnstown this season......The Bullies are 28-2-1 when leading after the second period.........Scott Matzka has 4 goals and 7 assists (11 PTS) in his last ten games.

Up Next For the Chiefs:

The Chiefs will begin the Kelly Cup Northwest division semi-finals this week against either the Peoria Rivermen or the Dayton Bombers. With a Dayton win tonight over the Toledo Storm, the Chiefs will face the Peoria Rivermen Tuesday and Wednesday night at Peoria's Carver Arena. They will return to the War Memorial for Game #3 Friday night, and Game #4 (if necessary) Saturday night. Game #5 (if necessary) will be played in Peoria on Tuesday April 9th. A Dayton loss and a Peoria win tonight over Reading, the Chiefs will travel to Dayton's Nutter Center, for games Wednesday and Friday night. Game #3 of that series will be played in Johnstown on Saturday night. Game #4 (if necessary) will be at the War Memorial on Tuesday April 9th.
