Chiefs Fall To Atlantic City

Johnstown, PA- Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies forward Jeff Connolly scored 1:15 into the third period to break a 2-2, and give them the 3-2 win over the Johnstown Chiefs Sunday afternoon at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. The game marked the regular season finale for both teams.

Ryan Townsend scored his second goal in as many games and Eric Schneider tallied for the Chiefs. John Campbell and Jerry Keefe scored the Boardwalk Bullies goals. Keefe's goal came 2:26 into the game on a penalty shot.

Chiefs goaltender Frederic Deschenes made 25 saves for his 21st loss of the season, while Atlantic City goaltender Shawn Degagne made 26 saves for his 17th win of the season.

The Chiefs closed out the regular season with the most wins in franchise history going 39-31-2 on the campaign. Atlantic City finishes 42-22-8 in their inaugural season in the ECHL.

The Chiefs will begin the Kelly Cup Northwest division semi-finals this week against either the Peoria Rivermen or the Dayton Bombers. With a Dayton win tonight over the Toledo Storm, the Chiefs will face the Peoria Rivermen Tuesday and Wednesday night at Peoria's Carver Arena. They will return to the War Memorial for Game #3 Friday night, and Game #4 (if necessary) Saturday night. Game #5 (if necessary) will be played in Peoria on Tuesday April 9th. A Dayton loss and a Peoria win tonight over Reading, the Chiefs will travel to Dayton's Nutter Center, for games Wednesday and Friday night. Game #3 of that series will be played in Johnstown on Saturday night. Game #4 (if necessary) will be at the War Memorial on Tuesday April 9th. Game #5 (if necessary) will be played in Dayton on Wednesday April 10th.
