
Ice Pilots Bomb Mysticks

Despite outshooting the Ice Pilots 52-34, the Mysticks lost to Pensacola 6-2 at the Mobile Civic Center.
Mike Jones opened the scoring just 20 seconds into the first period as his shot from the point was deflected past goaltender Greg Hewitt giving the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead. Louie Dumont added an assist on the goal.
Greg Pankewicz extended the Ice Pilots lead to two as he buried a centering pass behind Hewitt at the 3:13 mark of the first. Dumont and Harlan Pratt added the assists.
Pensacola took a 3-0 lead as Pankewicz added his second of the contest, short handed, just five minutes later. Dumont picked up his third helper of the night on the goal.
Hugues Gervais got the Mysticks on the board as he beat Maxime Gingras from the slot just 47 seconds into the second period. Ryan Knox and B.J. Kilbourne added the assists on the goal. The Mysticks cut the Ice Pilot's lead to one with just 34 seconds left in the second as Tyler Deis pushed a loose puck past Gingras on the power play. Jason Elders and J.P. O'Connor picked up the helpers on the goal.
Pensacola regained the two goal lead as Tiltgen beat Hewitt off a centering pass from Dumont at the 4:33 mark of the third. Dumont ond Derek Eberle added the assists on the goal. Roger Holeczy gave the Ice Pilots a 5-2 lead as he beat Hewitt at the 12:46 mark of the third. Rob Sinclair added an assist on the goal.
Pankewicz rounded out the scoring as he slipped past the Mysticks defense and pushed the puck past an outstretched Hewitt to give the Ice Pilots a 6-2 lead. Dumont and Tiltgen added the assists on the goal.
The Mysticks close out the regular season tomorrow when they host the Arkansas RiverBlades at 4:00 p.m. at the Mobile Civic Center.
