Ice Dogs Celebrate Canada In Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that the popular KTLA Morning News show personalities, Mark Kriski and Michaela Pereira, will be participating in the ceremonial puck drop on Saturday, April 2nd, when the Ice Dogs take on the Victoria Salmon Kings. Game time is at 7 PM and will be the final regular season home game for the Ice Dogs this year.

The Ice Dogs will be honoring Canada, as they play Victoria, the only Canadian team in the 28-team ECHL. Kriski is the weatherman on the KTLA Morning News, and is originally from Montreal, Quebec. Pereira is an anchor for the program and hails from Victoria, British Columbia. Kriski was named the funniest weatherman in Los Angeles by the LA Times and has played newscasters in numerous movies. Pereira received a Golden Mike award for Best Daytime Newscast. Both can be seen on the KTLA channel 5 Morning News show weekdays from 7:00 – 9:00 AM.

All fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a complimentary ticket to the Grand Prix of Long Beach for Friday, April 8th. The Ice Dogs are in the middle of a playoff race with five games remaining. They currently have 86 points in the West Division and are looking to win their first Kelly Cup.
