Ice Dogs' Attard and Ewasko Named to All-Rookie Team

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The West Coast Hockey League announced today that Long Beach Ice Dogs forwards Jeff Ewasko and Jeff Attard were selected by the league's general managers, coaches and members of the media to the 2001-02 WCHL All-Rookie Team. Long Beach and Idaho were the only teams to place more than one player on the All-Rookie squad.

Ewasko, 25, has appeared in 60 games this season, scoring eight goals and adding 23 assists. His 231 penalty minutes are second most on the club, and the most of any WCHL rookie. The 6-foot-7, 234-pound Sherwood Park, Alberta native has posted six multiple-point games.

The 23-year-old Attard has registered 11 goals and 19 assists in 47 games for the Ice Dogs. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound London, Ontario native has recorded eight multiple-point games, including two game-winning goals, and logged a +15 plus/minus rating.
