Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif - The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League have announced tickets for the first round of the 2002 Taylor Cup Playoffs will go on sale Monday, April 8th at 10:00am. The Condors will open the post season against either Long Beach at home, or on the road in San Diego.
The tickets can be purchased through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location.
The Condors will either play the San Diego Gulls or the Long Beach Ice Dogs, depending on where they finish in the standings. They are currently in fourth place in the Southern Division standings, trailing Fresno by just one point. If the Condors finish in fourth place, they will play the Gulls and the home playoff dates will be Thursday, April 18th and Friday, April 19th (if necessary). Should the Condors finish in third place, they will face the Ice Dogs and host games on Friday, April 12th and Saturday, April 13th. Only tickets for confirmed dates will be on sale.
Bakersfield is 8-1-1 in the last 10 games, with just two games remaining during the regular season. The Falcons have four games remaining. If it comes to a tie for third place, the first tiebreaker is total wins. The Condors currently have 30 wins, to the Falcons 29.
The Condors are back in action this Friday and Saturday night, both at Centennial Garden. Friday's game against the Tacoma Sabercats starts at 7:00pm and features Condors Windshield Shade giveaway for the first 2,000 adults. KLLY 95.3 and Mercedes-Benz of Bakersfield sponsor the windshield shades. Saturday night is the much-anticipated Paul Rosebush Bobblehead Doll Night. KGET-TV 17 and Wm. K. Lyons Agency Inc. sponsors the bobbleheads, which will be distributed to the first 2,000 children 12 & under.
