Pensacola's Dumont Wins ECHL Scoring Title

PRINCETON, N.J. - The East Coast Hockey League announced on Tuesday that Pensacola center Louis Dumont is the recipient of the 2001-02 ECHL Leading Scorer Award.

The 29-year-old Dumont scored 102 points and led the ECHL with 70 assists in 72 games for Pensacola. South Carolina's Dave Seitz finished second in scoring with 98 points while leading the ECHL with 44 goals in 72 games.

Dumont assisted on five of the six goals in Pensacola¹s 6-2 win at Mobile in the Ice Pilots final regular season game. It marked the second time that Dumont had five assists in a game, tying the ECHL season high for assists in a game. Dumont was named First-Team All-ECHL on Sunday becoming the first Pensacola player in history to earn First-Team honors, and he was also named as a starter in the 2002 Sovereign Bank/ECHL All-Star Game on January 22 in Trenton, N.J.
