SAN DIEGO- Mark Woolf, John Spoltore, Trevor Sherban and Trevor Koenig have been named to the 2001-02 All-WCHL First Team, the league announced yesterday.

Woolf also ranks first in power-play, short-handed and game-winning goals. He also set a franchise record scoring a goal in eight consecutive games.

Spoltore, also a unanimous selection, leads the league with 109 points and 80 assists. Spoltore is currently riding a 13-game point streak, a league high for the season. He has 32 points during that span. His 80 helpers are a new single-season franchise record. The league record is 90.

Sherban has anchored the San Diego defense all season, leading Gulls blue liners with 49 points. That places him third among WCHL defensemen. Sherban earned a Player of the Week honor in December.

Koenig earns First Team honors for the second consecutive season. He leads the league with 39 wins, 1,650 saves and a .913 save percentage. Koenig is tied for first with four shutouts and is second with a 2.71 goals against average. Koenig is a two-time Goaltender of the Week recipient this season.

The Gulls conclude their road trip Wednesday night in Long Beach. San Diego returns home Friday to face the Ice Dogs for the final time in the regular season. The Blue and Orange play in Fresno Saturday before closing out the regular season Sunday at the Sports Arena versus Tacoma.
