Hutchins Called Up; Cava And Lisabeth Activated

BILOXI, Miss. – Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that the team has loaned left wing Jeff Hutchins to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, while defenseman Chris Cava (KAHV-ah) and right wing Travis Lisabeth (LIHZ-ah-behth) have been activated off the 7-day injured reserve.

Hutchins, 26, receives his first call up of the campaign and becomes the second Mississippi player to advance to the AHL this season joining Lee Jacobson, who remains on loan to Cincinnati. Selected as Mississippi's 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game representative on January 26 at Reading, Pennsylvania, Hutchins leads the Sea Wolves with 17 goals, six power-play markers and a plus/minus of +12. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Hutchins has also accumulated 32 points in 31 games, to go along with 108 penalty minutes. The 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins was named runner up for the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week from December 27 to January 2.

In 2003-04, Hutchins appeared in 23 games with Rochester including one playoff game, tallying a total of one goal, four assists and 74 penalty minutes. Hutchins also received a call up for two games last season with the Houston Aeros of the AHL, where he picked up two penalty minutes.

Hutchins will be available to Rochester for the Americans home game at 7:35 p.m. ET tomorrow against the Utah Grizzlies at the Blue Cross Arena.

Cava, 24, missed just one game on injured reserve and continues to rank second in the ECHL with 14 major penalties. The 6-foot and 200-pound Cava has registered three goals, seven points and 116 penalty minutes in 28 games with Mississippi this season. A native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Cava is in his fourth full professional season and third season with the Sea Wolves.

Lisabeth, 24, missed just one contest while on the injured reserve. A native of Langton, Ontario, Lisabeth has tallied seven goals, 24 points, a plus/minus of +9 and 50 penalty minutes in 30 games this season. The 6-foot and 200-pound Lisabeth was named runner up for the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week from November 29 to December 5 highlighted by notching a career-high six points (1g-5a) on December 4 against Texas. In that game, Lisabeth tied a team record for points in one game with six and set a new team record for assists in one game with five.

The Sea Wolves take to the ice at 7:05 p.m. tonight against the Louisiana IceGators at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Promotions for the game include Pack The House Night, offering all fans a $10 ticket in any section, based on availability plus Casino Night, which allows all casino employees two tickets for the price of one, by showing your casino identification badge at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum box office. It's also Bay High School Night highlighted by a performance by the Bay High Tiger band.
