FC Dallas (11-3-5, 38 points) visits the Houston Dynamo (7-6-5, 26 points) on Saturday, July 21 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston TX. This is the first of three meetings this season between the clubs. Dallas and Houston played to a draw in each of their three meetings in 2017. In 2016, Dallas and Houston each earned a win, loss and draw. Since the Dynamo took the goal differential tie-breaker in 2016, they retained El Capitán in 2017.

FC Dallas 4-3-1 on the road this season. Only four teams in MLS have won four or more road matches this season: Atlanta (6), LAFC (5), FC Dallas (4) and New York Red Bulls (4). Dallas' best road record in club history occurred during the MLS shootout era when FCD went 8-8-0 in 1988. The best road record outside of the shootout era occurred in 2007 (6-7-2) and 2011 (6-7-4).
About the Houston Dynamo
The Dynamo are coming off short rest after beating Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday night to secure their third-ever semifinal berth in the U.S. Open Cup. The Dynamo are unbeaten in their last three MLS games and are undefeated at home in league play after dropping back-to-back games to end March. Houston is 5-0-1 in the span and has outscored visitors 18-6.
