Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC today announced that it has waived midfielder Magnus Wolff Eikrem. The Norwegian international signed with Seattle prior to the 2018 season and made 17 appearances across all competitions (15 in MLS play), tallying two goals and one assist.
"We would like to thank Magnus for his contributions to our club this season and wish him the best as he embarks on the next step in his career," said Sounders FC General Manager & President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey.
Wolff Eikrem signed with Seattle on January 30, 2018 after nine professional seasons in Europe. The 27-year-old scored his lone MLS goal in a 2-1 win over D.C. United on July 9, in addition to his strike in a 4-0 win over Santa Tecla in 2018 CONCACAF Champions League play.
Following a 1-1 road draw on Sunday at Atlanta United FC, Sounders FC (4-9-5, 17 points) takes its three-match unbeaten streak into Saturday's home contest against Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC (7-8-5, 26 points) on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field (1:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, YouTube TV, Univision-Seattle, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
TRANSACTION: Sounders FC waives midfielder Magnus Wolff Eikrem on July 20, 2018.
