D.C. United News Release
D.C. United are proud to announce that the club have reached an agreement with its three passionate supporters' groups, the Screaming Eagles, District Ultras and La Barra Brava. With the grand opening of Audi Field, the Black-and-Red have been focused on completing deals with the supporters' clubs that will create an unforgettable atmosphere at their new venue.
All three supporters' groups will be present at D.C. United's second-ever match at Audi Field against Atlantic Cup rivals, the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday, July 25 and for the remainder of the 2018 season.
"D.C. United are one big and growing family. The Screaming Eagles, La Barra Brava and the District Ultras have encompassed the 'all welcome, all united' spirit since their inceptions. Having their leadership at Audi Field is a tremendous boost. It remains D.C. United's priority to include every member and group in our incredibly diverse fanbase. This is another important step for the club as we enter a new and exciting chapter at Audi Field," Jason Levien, United Managing General Partner and CEO, said.
"We're encouraged by ongoing talks with D.C. United aimed at achieving the equitable ticketing and operational solution necessary to bring the District Ultras to Audi Field. Jason Levien's direct intervention and personal interest made us hopeful, and the ticketing staff's dedicated work and flexibility have been instrumental in reinforcing our belief that a fair solution is possible. The working atmosphere is good. Everyone seems sincerely determined to have 90 minutes of full throated support at Audi Field relatively soon," the District Ultras, said.
"La Barra Brava's mission statement has always been to support the players on the field with the unparalleled, passion-filled exuberance that is La Barra Brava. As a result of the commitment and hard work of D.C. United and their supporters, La Barra Brava is excited to bring our passion, voices and energy to Audi Field, as it becomes the most intimidating stadium atmosphere in MLS for our opponents. Our focus is now 100 percent in helping D.C. United win championships. Vamos United," Oscar Zambrana, La Barra Brava Founder, said.
We are thrilled that La Barra Brava and the District Ultras will be taking their rightful place in the supporters' north stands at Audi Field. Together we will build the strongest home support in MLS," James Lambert, Screaming Eagles President, said.
With this new agreement, the Black-and-Red are proud to pack Audi Field with the most passionate fans in the league.
Jason Levien and D.C. United stalwart, Nick DeLeon, will join fans from the District Ultras and La Barra Brava at their respective watch parties for the match against Atlanta United on Saturday, July 21 at 3:30 PM ET on Univision.
