Soo Greyhounds News Release

The Soo Greyhounds acquired 18-year old centreman KYLE DECOSTE and a 5th round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection from the Brampton Battalion on Friday morning in exchange for 19-year old winger ANTHONY PELUSO.

DeCoste, a 6'2", 190 lb native of London, Ontario has 6 goals and 7 assists for 13 points along with 31 penalty minutes in 31 games played this season.

Originally taken in the 5th Round of the 2006 OHL Priority Selection, DeCoste joined the Battalion as a 16-year old forward that same year. In 45 games that season he had 1 goal and 3 assist (4 points) before improving his stats to 10 goals and 12 assists one season ago.

This past summer Kyle was selected in the 5th round (147th overall) of the NHL's Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

DeCoste, who is described as a hard-working player who plays an honest two-way game, is not expected to be in the Hounds lineup versus Windsor this evening.

The OHL's trade deadline is at 12 noon today.
