Hounds acquire Thompson from Wolves

In their second deal of the morning, the Soo Greyhounds acquired Sault Ste. Marie native BRETT THOMPSON from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for a 4th round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection (Erie's).

Thompson, who is currently in his second season in the OHL, was selected by the Wolves in the 4th Round of the 2007 OHL Priority Selection. In 39 games played this year Thompson has 5 goals, 11 assists for 16 points to go along with a +6 rating.

Brett stands 5'8" while weighing 158 lbs.

A former member of the Soo North Stars AAA Midget Hockey Club, Thompson was part of the team that advanced to the 2007 Telus Cup in Red Deer Alberta. Brett is also the second member of his family to be part of the Soo Greyhounds organization, following in his father Billy's footsteps who was a goaltender for the Hounds in the 1970s.
