LANSING, Mich. - A day after being limited to a run on three hits, the Bowling Green Hot Rods (24-12, 62-42) scored four runs and sent all nine men to the plate in the first inning, leading to a 7-1 win against the Lansing Lugnuts (12-23, 44-60) on Sunday afternoon at Cooley Law School Stadium.

The Lugnuts had plenty of opportunities to claw their way back in, but stranded the bases loaded in the first, fourth and seventh innings - leaving 12 runners on-base in total.

Three straight singles, capped by an RBI single from Tommy Coyle, opened the ballgame and immediately put Bowling Green up 1-0. After an RBI groundout added another run, Marty Gantt doubled in Coyle and Joey Rickard to complete a four-run frame - all scored against Lansing starter Taylor Cole (Loss, 5-10).

After giving up an RBI single to Justin O'Connor in the second inning, Cole settled down, lasting four innings in the loss. He allowed nine hits - five in the first inning alone - and five runs, all earned. The 23-year old struck out three and issued a pair of walks.

Harrison kept the Lugnuts scoreless in five innings of work to earn the win. In just his fourth Midwest League start, Harrison allowed four hits, struck out four and issued three free-passes.

Lansing's only run came across in the bottom of the seventh inning on a bases-loaded walk by Jordan Leyland that scored Dalton Pompey. In the losing effort, Pompey finished 2-for-4 with a single, double and also drew a walk.

The loss sets up a series rubber match on Monday night. Ben White (6-6, 3.57) earns the start for Lansing with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. Meanwhile, he will oppose Bowling Green left-hander Matt Spann (3-1, 2.20).
