BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods shutout the Fort Wayne TinCaps with a 4-0 win. A three run third put the Hot Rods in the lead, and the Hot Rods pitchers didn't allow a TinCap to touch home plate.

The third inning started with a back to back walks to 2B Vidal Brujan and SS Taylor Walls. LF Moises Gomez picked up an RBI with a groundout to short that scored Brujan. 3B Zach Rutherford singled to make the game 2-0, and 1B Jim Haley singled home Rutherford and put the Hot Rods up 3-0.

RHP Paul Campbell got the start for the Hot Rods and threw six innings and allowed four hits and four walks while striking out four. He earned his first career Midwest League win as well.

The Hot Rods added on another run in the eighth inning when Haley hit a ground-rule double to left-center field, advanced to third on a single from C Alexander Alvarez and scored on an infield single from Brujan

RHP Jhonleider Salinas earned his fifth save of the season throwing three innings and allowing just two walks while striking out five.

The Hot Rods and TinCaps will meet again tomorrow at 6:35pm CST. RHP JD Busfield makes his first start for the Hot Rods in 2018, and he will be opposed by LHP Ben Scheckler (1-2, 3.53) for the TinCaps.
