Hot Rods Shutout 4-0 in First-Half Finale

Hickory, North Carolina - Duncan Davitt let up just one run over 6.0 frames, but the Bowling Green Hot Rods (36-30) were shutout 4-0 by the Hickory Crawdads (28-38) in the final game of the first half on Thursday at L.P. Frans Stadium.

Hickory struck first in the bottom of the third facing Davitt. Yosy Galan singled and moved to second on a stolen base. Alejandro Osuna collected a single to right, scoring Galan to make it 1-0.

The Crawdads opened it up in the bottom of the eighth with three runs against Hot Rods reliever Drew Sommers, taking a 4-0 lead.

Bowling Green went scoreless in the ninth, falling 4-0.

Mitch Bratt (4-3) collected the win, letting up six hits, a walk, and striking out five over 7.0 scoreless frames. Davitt (5-5) took the loss, allowing a run on four hits and four strikeouts over 6.0 innings.

Bowling Green and Hickory play game four of a six-game series on Friday with first pitch set for 6:00 PM CT. The Hot Rods are rolling out RHP Trevor Martin (5-2, 2.97), while the Crawdads are starting RHP Joseph Montalvo (4-2, 2.68).
