Bowling Green Hot Rods News Release
Bowling Green, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods, First-Half Midwest League Eastern Division Champions, announced plans for the first playoff appearance in franchise history on Saturday. By virtue of their first-half division title, the Hot Rods will host Games 2 and 3 (if necessary) in the first round of the Midwest League playoffs beginning in September. The team also introduced the ticket packs to allow fans to enjoy the pursuit of the Hot Rods first-ever Midwest League Championship.
"Playoff fever has finally hit Bowling Green," said Hot Rods President Brad Taylor. "Our staff, players, and coaches are all excited for postseason baseball and we are expecting strong demand for playoff tickets. On September 8th, Bowling Green Ballpark will be the place to be."
The first-round of the Midwest League playoffs begins on September 7, two days after the completion of the regular season. The Hot Rods will play the first game of the postseason on the road against the winner of the second-half Wild Card. The best-of-three series will then continue at Bowling Green Ballpark with Game 2 on September 8 followed by Game 3 on September 9, if necessary.
If the Hot Rods advance past the first round, another best-of-three Divisional Championship Series will determine who goes to the Midwest League Championship Series to play the Western Division Champion in a best-of-five series. This winner-take-all set begins with Games 1 and 2 at the home of the Eastern Division Champion before coming to a conclusion with Games 3-5 in the Western Division.
With this schedule, the Hot Rods can play up to six postseason games at Bowling Green Ballpark. In light of this, the team is introducing 2011 Playoff Ticket Strips. These strips include a box seat ticket to all six potential home playoff games plus a free Hot Rods Playoff T-Shirt for just $60. Tickets for unplayed postseason games will be applied toward a credit for 2012 tickets.
Playoff Tickets Strips are available to Full and Half-Season Ticket, Stadium Club Season Ticket, and Suite Plan holders immediately. They can reserve the same seats they enjoy during the regular season. Mini-Plan holders can begin reserving their 2011 Playoff Strips on Friday, July 1, before the general public can secure Playoff Strips on Sunday, July 3.
The Hot Rods are now offering Group Outings for box seats, Home Run Grill, Party Deck, and Single-Game Suite Rentals for the playoffs (based on availability). Individual playoff tickets will be made available later in the summer.
To order your 2011 Playoff Ticket Strip, contact the Hot Rods Ticket office at 270.901.2121 or visit www.bghotrods.com. A complete potential playoff schedule is included below.
