Hooks Drop Finale in Frisco

FRISCO, TX - The bullpen shined but the offense could not back up its performance in the Hooks' 5-2 loss to the RoughRiders on Wednesday night. Carlos Sanabria, Colin McKee, and Andre Scrubb combined for 6.1 innings of no-hit relief with nine strikeouts.
Osvaldo Duarte sparked the offense in the first inning for the Hooks as the two-hole hitter. He drove the third pitch of the game to deep right-center and gone for his 12th dinger of the year. It was the fourth home run the Hooks have hit off of Frisco starter Tyler Phillips on the season.
However the Riders responded in the bottom half on Andretty Cordero's solo shot to left. Then in the second, Frisco tagged Corpus Christi starter Brett Adcock for four two-out runs to pad a 5-1 lead through two.
Sanabria was aided by right fielder Jake Meyers to record the final out of the second on a fantastic throw home after an error on Arauz at second. Meyers handled the booted grounder and fired home to nab Cordero attempting to score.
That play kicked off the tremendous performance from the bullpen. Sanabria totaled 2.1 innings with four strikeouts and worked without yielding a walk.
Chuckie Robinson lined a double to lead off the third inning, but it turned out to be the last hit the Hooks collected on the night. Their second run came on an error from shortstop Yonny Hernandez in the sixth to score Duarte.
Right-hander Colin McKee returned in the fifth inning and struck out two batters. He would give way to Andre Scrubb who tallied three strikeouts over the final two innings of the contest.
The Hooks continue the road trip and embark to Midland to start a four-game set at Security Bank Ballpark. First pitch is slated for 7:00 P.M. on Thursday from the home of the RockHounds.
