Rochester Honkers News Release

(Rochester, MN) - The Rochester Honkers dropped game-two of the two-game set to the Waterloo Bucks on Friday night in Rochester by a final score of 17-9.

The Bucks had two huge innings with six runs in the second inning and eight in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

Honkers starter Dylan Nelson (San Mateo) did not have his best stuff and allowed seven runs on eight hits over 4.0 innings of work. However, none of those runs were earned as the Honkers played poor defense behind their starter, and committed three errors on the night. With the loss, Nelson is 1-3.

Lefty reliever Brock Adcock (Illinois Central) made his Honkers debut but only lasted 1.0 frame after yielding a whopping eight runs on nine Waterloo hits including two hard-hit home runs.

The Rochester offense finally got on the board in the bottom of the sixth by pushing five runs across the plate highlighted by a two-run triple from center fielder Jordan Parr (Illinois). Parr finished the night 2 for 5 with four RBIs.

Catcher Chris Manning (Doane) also made his debut in a Honkers uniform and went 2 for 3 with a solo home run in the ninth. Reid Roper (Illinois) picked up a couple of hits in the game as well.

The Honkers (8-12, 23-32) play the Duluth Huskies (12-8, 31-24) tomorrow, July 28th at 7:05 PM in Rochester, MN for the first game of a two-game set. Righty Nick Dolsky (DMACC) will start on the mound for the Honkers. Dolsky, a former Northwoods League Midseason All Star in 2011, is 1-1 in four starts with a 2.00 ERA this summer.

Scheduled to start for the Duluth Huskies is lefty Joey Webb (Menlo), who is 2-3 in nine games with an ERA of 5.89.

The first 500 Mayo Field fans will receive a Honkers pennant presented by City Auto Glass and Newstalk 1340 KROC.
