*Season Series: *This is the second of 10 meetings between these two teams. They met last night with Wichita coming away with a 5-1 win in Wichita.
* *
*Recent Action: *The Thunder scored the first five goals last night, in claiming its first win of the season, while handing the Oilers their first loss of the year. Marty Standish had the lone Oiler goal, ruining Wichita's shutout bid with just less than 13 minutes to play.
*Historic Home Openers*: The Oilers are 11-6-0 in home openers since the CHL revitalized in 1992-93. Last season, in front of the second largest crowd ever to watch a CHL game (16,982), the Oilers christened the BOK Center in a 5-1 loss to the Oklahoma City Blazers.
*Fists A Flying:* Last night's encounter between these two teams was a throwback and testament to their historic rivalry as there were four fights in the game.
*Strange But True:* While it's early yet, the Oilers have scored more shorthanded goals than they have on the power play. Tulsa has one shorthanded goal in each of its first two games, while going a combined 0-for-9 on the power play.
*New Faces: *Not only is it the first home game for Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay it is the first home game for an overwhelming majority of the team. Only Michel Beausoleil, R. J. Linder, and Jake Riddle played for the Oilers last season.
*Brotherly Love: *Wichita defenseman Mark Adamek is the younger brother of Mike Adamek who played for the Oilers in the 2006-07 season.
*Next Up: *The Oilers continue their brief (two games) first homestand of the season hosting the Rapid City Rush on Tuesday at 7:05. Among the new players for Rapid City this season is former Oiler Brendon Hodge. Wichita heads to Mississippi for a match up tomorrow afternoon.
