Hogs Need One More Push To Grab Third Seed

Rosemont, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs are in the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs and now they need an opponent.

With a win tonight against the Chicago Wolves and a loss from the Houston Aeros, Rockford will face the Peoria Rivermen in the Division Semifinals. Rockford's final game of the 2008-09 regular season starts at 7 p.m. at the Allstate Arena.

The Hogs are coming off of a 2-1 shootout victory over the Rivermen on Friday at the Rockford MetroCentre to clinch their fifth straight postseason spot and second in the American Hockey League. The win also guaranteed the Hogs a 40-win season for the fifth straight campaign.

The Wolves are reeling from a 3-1 loss to Milwaukee on Friday and a 2-6-1-1 record in their last ten. Chicago is fighting to finish over .500 and with a win in their final game, they will do it.

The Hogs and their closest rivals have not played since Jan. 16, when the Wolves slid past Rockford 3-2. The IceHogs sealed a season series win over the Wolves with a 3-1 win on Jan. 9.
