Dowell Recalled To Blackhawks

Rockford, Ill- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Saturday that center Jake Dowell has been recalled from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Dowell was a Round 5 (#140 overall) for the Blackhawks in 2004. The center has played in 75 games with the IceHogs during the 2008-09 season and has accumulated 20 pts (6g-14a) and 128 PIMs. In his 2007-08 season with the Hogs, Dowell racked up 17 pts with 7g-10a over 49 games.

This is the first recall of the season for Dowell but his third in the NHL. All have been stints with the Blackhawks. While skating with Chicago in 2007-08, Dowell had 2g-1a-3pts and 10 PIMs over 19 contests. The center marks the 10th IceHogs skater to be recalled during the 2008-09 campaign.
