APPLETON, WI - The Beloit Snappers (49-57) got another quality start from Bryan Hoeing, his fifth in-a-row, to help beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (50-55), 3-1.

The Snappers scored a pair of runs in the top of the third inning with a two-out double by Connor Scott to plate Ynmanol Marinez. One pitch later, Victor Victor Mesa collected an infield single to extend the Snappers lead to 2-0.

In a 2-0 game, the Snappers added to their lead in the fifth inning. Mesa hit a ground ball over to third and it was booted by Timber Rattlers third baseman Chad McClanahan. Mesa reached first safely and Scott came in to score, but Mesa was thrown out at second trying to grab an extra base on the throw to the plate.

The Timber Rattlers scored their lone run on a ground out by Zavier Warren, scoring Sal Frelick from third.

The Snappers retired 9 of the final 11 batters to secure 3-1 lead, their 49th of the year.

Beloit's Top Performers: Hoeing stayed hot after winning High-A Central Pitcher of the Month just hours before the game. Eli Villalobos earned his second save of the season with a scoreless ninth. Scott had a pair of hits - including a double, an RBI, and two runs. Mesa had a two-hit night, also.

The Snappers are on the road against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Saturday before they are back at ABC Supply Stadium on Tuesday, September 7th against the South Bend Cubs for the final home stand of the season.
