Hitmen to play four games in five days

HITMEN HEADLINES: The Calgary Hitmen open a four game East Division road trip today in Swift Current. The Hitmen have won four in a row and are coming off Saturday's 4-3 come from behind shootout win over Lethbridge. Michael Stone scored the shootout winner for the Hitmen who overcame deficits of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2. Ian Schultz forced overtime with just under five minutes remaining in the third period. Brandon Kozun and Brett Sonne also scored for Calgary who outshot the Hurricanes 39-19. The Hitmen went 0-4 on the powerplay while Lethbridge was 0-1.

VS SWIFT CURRENT: Tonight is the first of four meetings with the Broncos. Calgary won the regular season series last season 3-1 having outscored the Broncos by a combined 15-9. The two teams also met in the 2007 WHL Playoffs with the Hitmen winning their Eastern Conference Semi-Final Series in six games. Calgary and Swift Current will meet again on Friday, November 28th in Calgary.

STREAKIN': Brandon Kozun (7g 8a) has points in 10 of his last 11 games. Paul Postma (1g 4a) and Ian Schultz (1g 4a) are both riding four game point streaks. Brendan Rowinski (2g 2a) and Michael Stone (4a) both have points in three consecutive games. Brett Sonne (6g 9a) has points in 10 of his last 12 games.

Alex Plante and Brett Sonne will serve as assistants.....Calgary is 1-0-1-0 on Tuesday's this season.....The Hitmen are 2-0 in matinees this season.....Keith Seabrook has served his four game suspension for interference and is eligible to return to the Calgary line-up today.

REGULAR SEASON CAREER WATCH: Kyle Bortis needs one point for 150 career regular season points. Paul Postma is five points shy of 100.

KOZUN AND SONNE TO REPRESENT HITMEN: The Canadian Hockey League and Western Hockey League have announced the players and coaching staff competing in the 2008 ADT Canada Russia Challenge for Team WHL. Hitmen forwards Brandon Kozun and Brett Sonne were named to the squad. They will both suit up for Team WHL in Swift Current and Prince Albert on November 26th and 27th.

DRAFTED PLAYERS: The Hitmen have eight NHL prospects ...Carson McMillan-(7th round Minnesota 2007), Alex Plante (1st round Edmonton 2007), Paul Postma-(7th round Atlanta 2007), Ian Schultz-(3rd round St. Louis 2008), Keith Seabrook-(2nd round Washington 2006), Brett Sonne-(3rd round St. Louis 2007) and Michael Stone-(3rd round Phoenix 2008). Martin Jones-(Los Angeles Kings-Signed '08).

THE ROSTER: Calgary is carrying 23 players; (14 forwards, 7 defencemen and 2 goalies)

-Break down....3 (20 year-olds), 5 (19 year-olds), 8 (18 year-olds), 4 (17 year-olds), and 3 (16 year-olds). There are 15 returning players from the 2007-08 season.

HITMEN ALUMNI: Brodie Dupont who played three seasons with the Hitmen (2004-05 to 2006-07) is in the American Hockey League with the Hartford Wolf Pack. The 21-year-old has six points (2g 4a) in 12 games.

UPCOMING GAMES: The Hitmen road trip continues tomorrow in Regina before heading to Brandon on Friday and Moose Jaw on Saturday. The next Hitmen home game is Friday, November 21st against the Prince Albert Raiders. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
