Kamloops Blazers News Release
KAMLOOPS, BC - The Kamloops Blazers announce today the acquisition of 17-year-old forward Brett Lyon from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 6th round selection in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. The Blazers have subsequently signed Lyon to a WHL Education Agreement and Player Contract and he is expected to join the club in time for practice on Wednesday.
"We're excited to add Brett to our team," says General Manager Craig Bonner. "He comes to us at 17 which is a good fit for our roster right now. We expect him to fill a role as a power forward adding depth to the physical dimension of our team."
Lyon, from Grand Forks, BC, is a 6'1", 180-pound left winger who started the season with the Westside Warriors of the BCHL. He scored 2 goals and added 4 assists - to go along with 47 penalty minutes - in 19 games with the Warriors this season.
