Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen today announced the selections of Jonas Peterek and Samuel Krajc (pronounced Krajch) in the 2019 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
They join returning Hitmen defenceman Egor Zamula as imports on the roster with the club only allowed to play two this coming season.
"Our goal heading into the draft was to add two forwards who have the ability to play the right side," said Hitmen General Manager Jeff Chynoweth. "Both Jonas and Samuel have skated on the international stage and have the potential to provide scoring depth to our returning group of forwards."
Peterek, an 18-year-old forward from Havirov, Czech Republic, has an extensive resume having played for the Czech Republic at the 2017 World U17 Hockey Challenge, the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the 2019 U18 World Championship. In each of the last two seasons he has split time between the Czech junior and men's league.
