Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. - A lucky Brandon Wheat Kings' Season Ticket holder will be flying off to Las Vegas to see the National Hockey League's Golden Knights this season.
The Wheat Kings are pleased to announce that Darrell Bercier of Brandon has won a trip for two this winter to see the Golden Knights play host to his second favorite NHL team.
A longtime employee of Koch Fertilizer, Bercier will be unable to see his beloved Jets play in Vegas in November due to work commitments, so instead plans to attend the Tuesday, November 19th game between the Golden Knights and visiting Toronto Maple Leafs - his second favorite team.
Bercier, who purchased a 2019-20 Wheat Kings' Season Ticket by this Monday's Early Bird Deadline, had his name drawn Wednesday afternoon on 91.5 Q Country and 94.7 Star FM radio.
"Wow that is great," Bercier said when learning of his big win. "My wife and I have never been to Vegas so this will be great for both of us."
"We've always wanted to go so this is pretty exciting news," he added.
In addition to tickets to the game, the Early Bird grand prize includes both travel and hotel accommodations, jerseys and NHL game tickets.
Wednesday's draw came after Monday's deadline that saw over 1,800 tickets purchased for the 2019-20 Western Hockey League campaign.
Season ticket prices for the 2018-19 season are $499 (adults), $449 (seniors), $325 (youth) and $200 (childen 12 and under).
In addition to offering Time Payment plans this season, fans that purchase at least two adult season tickets will have the opportunity to purchase additional children's season tickets for just $99..
The Wheat Kings sold over 2,500 season tickets and averaged over 3,700 fans during the course of the 2018-19 campaign.
Brandon will bring the curtain up on their 2019-20 season on Friday, September 20th at 7:30pm against the visiting Winnipeg ICE.
