Hitmen Pot Three in Third to Rally past Red Deer

Calgary, AB - A three-goal third-period powered the Calgary Hitmen past the Red Deer Rebels 6-4 on Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Trailing 4-3 early in the final frame, the Hitmen netted a trio of unanswered goals to improve to 3-1-1 against their Central Division rivals this season.

Jakob Stukel (1g, 2a) and Jake Kryski (1g, 2a) recorded three points each for Calgary while Riley Stotts and Vladislav Yeryomenko both added a goal and an assist.

Tristen Nielsen, Luke Coleman and Vladislav Yeryomenko rounded out the scoring for the Hitmen helping Calgary climb to 2-2 on this season-high seven-game home stand.

Mason McCarty tallied a pair of markers for Red Deer with singles from Brandon Hagel and Kristian Reichel.

The Hitmen outshot Red Deer 30-23 with Nick Schneider making 19 saves to pick up the win.

Calgary is back in the 'Dome on Friday, Feb. 23 against Edmonton. It's a 7:00 p.m. start for the Lunar Celebration presented by A1 Chesney Service Experts. The game will include first intermission dragon dancers and post-game fireworks. The first 3,000 fans in the building will also receive a fortune cookie for a chance to win one of hundreds of prizes.

The Hitmen will then host Brandon (Feb. 25) and Swift Current (Feb. 27) before a trip to Red Deer (Feb. 28).
