Hitmen Leave the Road behind with a 2-0 Win

Medicine Hat, AB - The Calgary Hitmen closed a season high stretch of eight straight games on the road with a 2-0 win over the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night at Co-op Place.

Keagan Slaney, in his first game back after missing the previous 24 with an injury, and Riley Fiddler-Schultz authored the goals for the visitors.

For Slaney it was his third of the season while Fiddler-Schultz counted his team leading 27th.

Goaltender Brayden Peters made 13 saves to collect his fourth career shutout and third of the campaign. Among his work was a partial breakaway stop off Brayden Boehm in the second period.

Hitmen centre Blake Allan also reached a milestone in the victory, skating in his 200th Western Hockey League game.

The Hitmen outshot the Tigers 39-13 and have now won six of their seven meetings with Medicine Hat this season.

On special teams front both teams were blanked. Calgary went 0-3 on the power play while killing all three chances for the Tigers.

For the first time in over three weeks, the Hitmen return to Scotiabank Saddledome tomorrow, Sunday, March 27 to host the Swift Current Broncos.

The 2:00 p.m. start is the Every Child Matters game dedicated to Indigenous youth empowerment through sport and a celebration of the Blackfoot culture. Over 3,000 Every Child Matters rally towels will be given out to fans upon entrance while the first intermission will showcase on-ice traditional dancers.

The game is presented by Siksika Health Services in partnership with the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary, Okaki, and the Blackfoot Confederacy.

It's also another Sunday Funday in the 'Dome featuring "Farley's Family Feast" with special $2 prices for cotton candy, water, pop, hot dogs and popcorn. There are also select $5 menu items all game long including pizza and hamburgers.
