Winnipeg, Man. - The Prince Albert Raiders (24-31-4-1) lost a 6-2 game to the Winnipeg ICE (46-9-3-2) on Saturday night at Wayne Fleming Arena.

Nolan Allan and Vladislav Shilo had the Raider goals in the loss.

The Raiders opened the scoring just 21 seconds into the contest. Sloan Stanick made a cross-ice pass to Shilo to start a rush. Shilo stepped over the blueline and his shot from the point handcuffed Daniel Hauser to give the Raiders a 1-0 lead with his seventh goal of the season.

Late in the first, Winnipeg tied it up on the power play. Owen Pederson found Jack Finley in front of the goal from behind net. Finley one-timed the shot past Max Hildebrand to make it a 1-1 game with 4:25 left in the first.

Winnipeg struck again on the power play at the 4:00 mark of the middle frame. Conor Geekie found Matthew Savoie behind the Raiders defence off the rush into the zone. Savoie was able to lift a shot over Hildebrand to give Winnipeg a 2-1 advantage.

Evan Friesen made it a 3-1 game with 7:13 to play in the second. Chase Wheatcroft's cross-zone pass got knocked down in front of the goal by Skyler Bruce. He fed it quickly to Friesen who shot it past a sprawling Hildebrand to give Winnipeg a 3-1 lead after two periods.

Early in the third, the Raiders thought they cut into the lead with a power play. However, Keaton Sorensen's shot got past Hauser but found the post.

Just after the power play, Winnipeg extended its lead. Pederson set up Connor McClennon in front, but Hildebrand slid over to take away the one-timer opportunity. Finley was able to clean up the rebound for his second of the night 2:39 into the period.

Finley completed his hat trick at the 6:51 mark of the third. He finished off a tic-tac-toe passing play with a backdoor tap in to make it a 5-1 game.

Winnipeg added another power-play goal at the 8:14 mark of the final frame. Nolan Orzeck's shot from the bottom of the right faceoff circle got through a Cole Muir screen and past Hildebrand. Muir was credited with the goal.

The Raiders were able to get a goal back on a two-man advantage with 9:34 to play. Evan Herman dug the puck out of the corner to Allan at the point. He sent it over to Landon Kosior who gave it right back for Allan to blast a one-timer over Hauser's glove for his sixth goal of the campaign, wrapping up the scoring at 6-2.

Hildebrand was the busier of the two goaltenders throughout the night, making a number of quality saves on the likes of McClennon and Savoie. He made 31 saves in defeat. Hauser stopped 14 shots at the other end to pick up the win.

The Raiders wrap up their weekend trip to Manitoba tomorrow evening with a rematch against Winnipeg. Game time at Wayne Fleming Arena is 4 p.m. CST. Listen to the game on 900 CKBI with Rob Mahon, or watch on WHL Live.

The next Raiders' home game is on Wednesday night when the Brandon Wheat Kings visit the Art Hauser Centre on "This Girl Can" Night Presented by Prince Albert Memorial Gardens and River Park Funeral Home. Game time is 7 p.m. CST. Tickets are available at SaskTix.ca and at the Raiders Office.
