Vancouver, B.C. - The Vancouver Giants dropped a 3-2 overtime decision at the hands of the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night at the Pacific Coliseum. The Giants got their goals from Ty Ronning and Chase Lang.

Ronning opened the scoring for the Giants early in the opening frame when he potted a rebound, beating Calgary goalie Cody Porter. It was Ronning's team leading 28th goal of the season. Former Giant Jackson Houck scored for the Hitmen with less than two minutes to go in the first period to even the score.

Houck added his second goal of the game 46 seconds into the third period to put the Hitmen in front. Lang tied the game at 2-2 for the Giants when he went end-to-end in the late stages of the stanza.

The Giants failed to capitalize on a power play on the overtime period. Radel Fazleev was sprung on a breakaway after getting out of penalty box and scored on Ryan Kubic to end the game.
