Sioux Falls Canaries News Release

SIOUX FALLS, SD (May 17, 2007) - On May 24, the Sioux Falls Canaries will host the 2006 American Association Champion Fort Worth Cats in a game where the evening's promotions have been planned by local high school students. The evening's game, titled "Three Strikes, They're Out: High Schoolers End of School Celebration" will be presented by the U.S. Army and was planned by the business class students of Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Sioux Falls Washington High Schools.

Prior to the game, students will be able to drop off notebooks and other materials from the previous school year that they no longer need in a special dumpster that will be used for a post-game bonfire. There will also be pre-game karaoke and a pre-game tailgate party where students can get a free slice of pizza and a Coke with their ticket to the game.

During the game, between-inning promotions will feature high school students from different schools competing against one another in different contests. Also, Su FU Du, the local high school age drum line, will perform during a between inning break.

The celebration will continue following the completion of the Canaries game against Fort Worth. The post-game festivities will include a teen dance, a Guitar Hero tournament on the Canaries video board, a rock climbing wall, and the bonfire to burn unneeded materials from the school year, and other activities.

High school students will be able to receive a special ticket price for the game by presenting their high school ID at the Canaries Box Office. Tickets for high school students who present their ID will be $6 in advance or $8 on the night of the game, and will include a voucher for a free slice of pizza and Coke during the pre-game tailgate party. Female high school students will also be receiving special coupon offers from Empire Mall merchants.
