Hickory Crawdads News Release
The Hickory Crawdads have released their playing schedule for the 2009 South Atlantic League season.
The 140 game season opens Thursday, April 9 at L.P. Frans Stadium with a four game series against the newest South Atlantic League team from Bowling Green, KY, who has replaced the Columbus Catfish.
Highlights of the schedule include Saturday, July 4 against Hagerstown, and a four game series against the Rome Braves (July 22-26). Fellow North Carolina SAL member Greensboro will play in Hickory June 6-8 and close out the season September 1-3. Kannapolis will be in town April 25-26, June 9-10 and June 25-28. The Asheville Tourists make their only visit to L.P. Frans Stadium August 21-24. The season closes on the road Labor Day Weekend, September 4-7 at Kannapolis.
The schedule features nine Fridays and 13 Saturday home games. Once again, fireworks will follow every Friday home game and on July 4th. Also on tap are Monday senior adult two for one nights, all you can eat Tuesdays, kids run the bases Wednesdays, and dollar beverage Thursdays.
