Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets (41-28, 35-18) and Lexington Legends (21-48, 19-34) opened a four game series Friday night with Augusta recording a 7-0 shutout. Starter Madison Bumgarner struck out a career high 12 while Nick Noonan and Garrett Baker each drove in two runs.

Augusta broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning when Juan Ciriaco scored from third base on a wild pitch for a 1-0 lead.

The GreenJackets then plated five runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-0 lead. Noonan drove in two runs with a double then Juan Ciriaco followed with an RBI base hit for a 4-0 lead. Baker capped off the scoring in the frame with a two-out, two-run triple.

Bumgarner (13-3) allowed just two hits and two walks over six shutout innings worked for the win.

Augusta added another run in the seventh inning on an RBI double from Dayton Buller scoring Ciriaco.

Andrew De La Garza worked two perfect innings in relief striking out three and Buster Lussier worked a perfect ninth inning striking out two to preserve the shutout.

The GreenJackets continue their series against the Legends Saturday night with Augusta sending right-hander Chance Corgan (3-5, 2.84) to the mound. Lexington counters with lefty Anthony Bello (7-5, 3.63). First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Game Notes:

The GreenJackets improved to 42-22 at home this season, 22-7 in the second half.

The GreenJackets have a 4.5 game lead in the Southern Division.

Augusta recorded its 14 shutout of the season.

Bumgarner lowered his Minor League leading ERA to 1.52.

Augusta has not lost a game to open a home series since April 26, a span of 14 series'

Bumgarner, De La Garza and Lussier combined to match a season high mark of 17 strikeouts in a game.

Augusta's official paid attendance at the game was 4,837 for a new franchise attendance record of 180, 562.
