
Intimidators Jump On Crawdads In 11-3 Victory

Hickory, NC - The Intimidators (27-24) won their fourth straight behind a seven-run first inning in an 11-3 victory over the Hickory Crawdads (16-38).
The Intimidators had their first six batters walked in the 1st inning before Hickory's starter (Michael Felix) was removed for reliever Charles Benoit. The first batter Benoit faced was Matt Inouye and he drilled a grand slam to punctuate the 1st inning with seven runs scored.
Kannapolis added another run in the 3rd on Inouye's second home run of the game. In the 4th, Mark Fleisher brought in Gordon Beckham with a RBI double and Eduardo Escobar?s plated Justin Greene with a RBI single in the 8th. In the next frame Christian Marrero brought in Jim Gallagher with a sacrifice fly.
Beckham made his professional debut in this game. He was the 8th overall selection by the White Sox in this June's draft. Beckham went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double and two runs scored. He is one of four 2008 draftees on the Intimidators roster. The others are Brent Morel (3rd round), Justin Greene (20th) and Jorge Castillo (26th).
Inouye also had a big game with two home runs (his fourth and fifth). He's the second Intimidator this season to have a multi-homer game.
Miguel Socolovich (5-6) earned the win with six strong innings against the Crawdads. Socolovich scattered seven hits and two runs in the contest. It's his first win in the last three starts.
The Intimidators continue the eight-game roadtrip tomorrow night with game two in Hickory. The first pitch tomorrow in Hickory is set for 7:00pm. Coverage starts at intimidatorsbaseball.com with Dan Bumpus at 6:45pm.
