
Captains Garage Sale August 21st

(EASTLAKE, OH) - The Lake County Captains will hold their 4th annual Captains Charities Garage Sale on Thursday August 21st with proceeds benefiting Captains Charities. The Chinese auction will take place during the Captains game against the Lakewood BlueClaws. All fans in attendance will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for a Chinese auction to win various sports related memorabilia donated by the Captains and other professional sports organizations. The gates open at 6:00 PM and the first pitch will be at 7:05 PM.
This year the auction items will include a baseball signed by the 2008 Captains team and coaching staff, an autographed 2008 team poster, a Cleveland Cavaliers hat autographed by Anderson Varejao and a copy of "Coaching Youth Baseball the Ripken Way" autographed by Hall of Famer Cal Ripken Jr as well as many other sports related items from the Captains and other Cleveland professional sports teams and players.
Last season, there were over 50 items in the auction and the fundraiser generated $2,000 for Captains Charities, which is the charitable organization affiliated with the Lake County Captains. The mission of Captains Charities is to enhance the quality of life for children, the disabled, the elderly and retired residents in Northeast Ohio by making grants to area non-profit organizations. This Garage Sale is one of four primary fundraisers throughout the year for Captains Charities.
Tickets for all Captains home games including the 2008 SAL Playoffs are on sale at the Classic Park box office, by phone at 440-954-WINS (9467) or at captainsbaseball.com. Tickets for the playoffs remain the same as regular season game tickets, $9 reserved seat, $7 bleachers, juniors, and seniors, $6 lawn. Lawn seats for the Playoffs will only be sold once the reserved seats and bleachers are sold out. The $7 group rate will still apply to groups of 20 or more.
The Lake County Captains are a Class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians and play their home games at Classic Park in Eastlake, at the corners of State Route 91 and Vine Street. For more information on the Captains, please visit the team's official website at www.captainsbaseball.com.
