Lancaster Stormers News Release

Aaron Herr went 4-for-5 with a two-run homer, and the bullpen tossed five scoreless innings as Lancaster pulled off a come-from-behind, 9-7 win over the Road Warriors Tuesday evening at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

With the win, the Barnstormers rebuilt a two-game lead in the Freedom Division as York fell, 10-8, at Long Island.

Down, 7-3, going into the bottom of the fifth, the Barnstormers busted loose for five runs off Kelvin Villa (2-4). Tommy Everidge belted a long double into the alley in left center, and Fernando Seguignol followed with an RBI double into the right field corner. Herr cut the lead to one with his fourth homer of the season, an opposite field blast to the picnic deck. Alvin Colina kept the rally going with a single to left, his third hit of the night. J.C. Holt was hit by the final Villa pitch of the night, putting runners at first and second.

Sidewheeler Brian McCullough did his job, getting two outs without another run scoring, and got Ozzie Chavez to yank a weak grounder to second baseman Marcos Cabral. The ball slipped right through Cabral's legs, allowing two runs to score for an 8-7 lead.

Lancaster added an insurance run in the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Everidge.

It was also Everidge who got Lancaster on the board with a two-run homer in the first. Colina tacked on an RBI double to score Herr for a 3-0 lead, and it looked like the Barnstormers might cruise to a win.

Ross Peeples retired the first five batters he faced before yielding three straight two-out hits in the second. Luis Nieblas singled to left and scored on a double to the alley by Josh Johnson. Gabe Suarez singled to right center, slicing the lead to 3-2 before the Barnstormers could escape the second.

The fourth inning was worse. Nieblas led off with a single to center and reached second safely when Herr threw wildly on Johnson's grounder to third. Suarez bunted into a force play at third for the first out, but Cabral tied the game with a flare to center. Jonel Pacheco lofted a three-run homer barely over the right field wall for a 6-3 lead. Another out later, Michael Mooney also connected, his fourth homer in five games, as the Road Warriors went up by four.

Tim McNab (2-0) worked two scoreless innings, surviving a bases loaded threat in the sixth, to earn the win. Justin Segal tossed a perfect pair of frames, and Jonah Bayliss closed it out with a perfect inning for his second save.

Lancaster will host the Road Warriors again on Wednesday night with right-hander Cesar Carrillo (1-4) on the hill against right-hander Luke Massetti (5-3). The game will be aired on Fox Sports Radio, 1490, WLPA and streamed live on sportsjuice.com and ibnsports.com.
