Riversharks Win Third Straight

Carlos Vasquez threw seven strong innings and Pedro Feliz hit a two-run home run as the Riversharks matched their longest winning streak of the season at three with a 5-2 victory over the Somerset Patriots. Brian Stokes threw a perfect bottom of the 9th to pick up his 4th save of the season.

Vasquez (3-2) allowed just two runs on five hits for the victory as he outdueled Patriots' starter Troy Cate.

Camden (20-32) finally broke the scoreless tie in the top of the 5th when Juan Francia drove home Drew Macias with an RBI single to give the 'Sharks a 1-0 win.

Pedro Feliz extended the Riversharks lead to 3-0 in the 6th inning when he launched a two-run home run to deep left field off Cate, his 4th of the season.

Feliz was 2-for-4 on the evening for his 10th multi-hit game of the season.

Cate (0-2), in his second start for the Patriots, went the first six innings for Somerset allowing three earned runs on five hits.

Somerset got on the board in the home half of the 7th against Vasquez. After Jeff Nettles brought home Michael Hernandez with a sacrifice fly, Justin Huber hit an RBI single to cut the Riversharks lead to one at 3-2.

The Riversharks added two insurance runs in the top of the 9th inning with two outs. Lloyd Turner plated Juan Francia with an RBI double and Brian Burgamy followed that up with an RBI single to give Camden a 5-2 advantage.
