Sharks Swim Past Patriots 5-2

Bridgewater, NJ- The Camden Riversharks defeated the Somerset Patriots 5-2 at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening.

The Riversharks broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fifth inning after Drew Macias walked and came around to score on an RBI single to left field by Juan Francia.

Camden tacked on two more runs the following inning on a two run homerun by Pedro Feliz (4) for the 3-0 lead.

Somerset rallied to bring home two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning after Jeff Nettles hit a sacrifice fly to left to bring around Michael Hernandez. Justin Huber then followed with an RBI single to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Riversharks added two more in the ninth on an RBI double by Lloyd Turner and an RBI single by Brian Burgamy for the 5-2 final.

Carlos Vasquez (3-2) got the win for Camden after allowing two runs in seven innings. Troy Cate (0-2) suffered the loss for Somerset, allowing three runs on five hits in six innings pitched. Brian Stokes picked up his fourth save of the season after tossing a scoreless ninth.
