
Hernandez Is Pitcher Perfect in June

Winnipeg Goldeyes left-handed pitcher Nick Hernandez has been named the Rawlings American Association Pitcher of the Month for June.
In five starts for the Goldeyes in June, Hernandez earned four wins. He struck out 31 opposing batters and only gave up seven earned runs. His ERA for the month was a low 1.83. Hernandez recorded a quality start in all five starts, and kept the opposition's batting average to .197, while only walking five.
Hernandez was also named the Pointstreak American Association Pitcher of the Week for the week ending June 29.
The Goldeyes have won six straight games and nine of their last 10 games. They will look to continue that streak Wednesday night when they take on the Kansas City T-Bones in Game 2 of the three-game series. First pitch goes at 7 p.m. at Shaw Park.
