The visiting Explorers used a three-run sixth inning to earn a road win over the AirHogs on Wednesday afternoon. In the inning, DH Dillon Usiak hit a two-RBI single, and scored himself on a single from catcher Todd Jennings. Additionally, CF Tim Colwell hit a two-run home run in the fourth for the Explorers.
RF Peter Barrows was 3-for-4 for Sioux City, and Jennings was 2-for-4. For Grand Prairie, 2B Abel Nieves was 4-for-4 and 3B Matthew Burns was 3-for-4. DH Jason Botts had two doubles.
The winning pitcher was RHP Patrick Johnson, who went six innings, striking out four. RHP Chris Bodishbaugh struck out the side in the ninth for the save.
