St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (July 2, 2014) - Usually known for his country music, Chris Hawkey will be singing a different tune at a St. Paul Saints baseball game, that of the National Anthem before the biggest night of the season.
On Thursday, July 3 prior to the Independence Celebration Hawkey will sing the Star Spangled Banner for the first time at Midway Stadium. It is not the first time, however, that Hawkey has performed at the ballpark. Prior to the Saints winter Ice Ball Game in 2009, The Chris Hawkey Band performed for nearly 1,000 fans in attendance in the Saints parking lot. The weather for Thursday night's game is expected to be much warmer than the 19 degrees on the frigid February day.
Hawkey is the producer and co-host of Minneapolis' popular AM radio morning show on KFAN 1130, the Power Trip Morning Show. Chris has charted three Billboard country singles with his band Rocket Club.
Recently, Hawkey just completed an eight song self entitled album, which he recorded in Nashville.
Tickets are available for the July 3 Independence Day game starting at $9 for general admission, $12 for outfield reserved and $16 for infield reserved. Tickets for all other home games are available starting at $6 for general admission, $9 for outfield reserved and $14 for infield reserved. Friday Home Games with post-game fireworks (except August 28) are an additional $2 per ticket. The August 28 game also features extended post-game fireworks and is an additional $3 per ticket. Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $2 per ticket. Children under the age of 12 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free.
Tickets for all Saints regular season home games are available now, in person at the Saints Box Office, by phone at 651-644-6659 or online at saintsbaseball.com.
