Hens Six Game Win Streak Snapped
May 19, 2018 - International League (IL1)
Toledo Mud Hens News Release
The Mud Hens suffered their first loss in the past 10 home games as the Stripers came back to win 5-3 at Fifth Third Field on Saturday night. Jim Adduci and Kenny Wilson both knocked a ball over the fence for their fifth and second homeruns respectively.
The Toledo Mud Hens (27-13) held a 2-0 advantage heading into the seventh inning. A solo homerun for the Gwinnett Stripers (16-24) in the seventh inning by Danny Santana ended Hens pitcher A.J. Ladwig's perfect game, no-hitter and shutout.
Ladwig made his fifth start for Toledo going eight innings and allowing three earned runs on five hits. He also punched out seven batters and did not allow a walk.
With the scored knotted at three, Phillippe Aumont came on in the ninth and suffered two earned runs on four hits, allowing one walk as well. The Mud Hens were unable to put a run across in the bottom half of the inning, resulting in the 5-2 loss.
In the second inning, Chad Huffman led off the inning with a double. Adduci would then hit a single up the middle to center field, which allowed Huffman to score the first run of the game.
Adduci came up to bat in the fourth inning and belted his fifth home run of the season over the right field wall. This marked his 12th multi-hit game and eighth multi-RBI game of the campaign.

This is the longest active streak in the International League and the longest consecutive game hit streak for a Mud Hens player this season.
