Asheville Tourists News Release

Colorado Rockies announced Thursday morning that, contrary to a previous announcement, first baseman Todd Helton will not make a rehabilitation stint with the Asheville Tourists on Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23.

The 37-year-old Helton, who played for the Tourists in 1995 after a two-sport career at the University of Tennessee, has been on the disabled list since July 7 with lower back stiffness.

The Tourists will conclude the current homestand with games on Thursday and Friday against the Hagerstown Suns, with the first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m. both nights. After a four-game road trip to Kannapolis, Asheville returns to McCormick Field on Thursday, July 29, to open a four-game series with the Rome Braves. For more information, contact the Tourists' front office at (828) 258-0428.
