Rome, GA - The Lexington Legends defeated the Rome Braves 3-2 Thursday night in front of 2,791 fans at State Mutual Stadium. The Braves fall to 13-14 in the second half.

Lexington scored the first run of the game with two outs in the second inning. Rene Garcia doubled and reached third on a Grant Hogue bunt single. The Legends extended their lead in the third when Kody Hinze walked then scored on a Jonathan Meyer RBI triple. Renzo Tello plated Meyer with a sacrifice fly for the 3-0 score.

Rome closed the gap with a run in the fourth on a Riaan Spanjer-Furstenburg (1) homerun and another in the fifth inning when Edward Salcedo tripled then scored on a Jake Hanson sacrifice fly, but Lexington's pitching held for the 3-2 win.
