Oklahoma City Barons News Release

Milwaukee goaltender Magnus Hellberg stopped all 41 Oklahoma City shots for his first shutout of the season as the Admirals blanked the Barons 4-0 on Thursday at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wis.

Hellberg, now 4-9-1, keyed the Admiral's third straight win with his seventh career AHL shutout. It was Milwaukee's second win over the Barons in less than a week, as they also toppled the Barons 5-2 on Friday. Oklahoma City (10-13-0-4) falls to 1-2-0-1 on this six-game road trip. The Admirals improve to 12-5-4-1.

Oklahoma City, which was blanked for the third time this season, out-shot Milwaukee 41-37. It was the Barons' highest shot output of the season. Richard Bachman, playing his first game as a Baron since Oct. 25, allowed three goals (the last was into an empty net) to fall to 3-5-1.

Milwaukee tallied the only goal of the first period, a session where they out-shot the Barons 17-9. Austin Watson re-directed a centering pass from Miikka Salomaki on the power play at 11:35.

The Barons out-shot the Admirals 15-6 in the second period, but again allowed a power play goal to fall behind 2-0 after two. Anthony Bitetto snapped home a high glove-side shot from the right circle at 12:51 to put the Admirals up 2-0.

Colton Sissons added insurance with a steep-angle goal at even strength at 4:05 of the third. Vinny Saponari completed the scoring with an empty-netter at 17:26 as the Admirals recorded their second shutout of the season.

The Barons visit the Rockford IceHogs on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm (CST) to conclude this trip. The next home game is Dec. 20 against Texas at the Cox Center.
