Binghamton Senators News Release


BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Ottawa Senators announced today that they have recalled defenseman Cody Ceci on an emergency basis from Binghamton.

Ceci, 19, is playing in his first full professional season with Binghamton and currently leads all B-Sens defenseman and is third in team scoring with 17 points, including two goals. He has posted a +8 rating and recorded 10 penalty minutes in 24 AHL games.

Ceci was the Senators' first-round pick (15th overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. An Ottawa native, he spent three-plus years with the Ontario Hockey League's Ottawa 67's, before compelting his major junior career with the Owen Sound Attack. In 265 career OHL regular-season games (238 with Ottawa), he scored 49 goals and added 121 assists for 170 pionts.

Ceci is expected to make his NHL debut tonight when the Senators host the Buffalo Sabres at 7:30 p.m.

Binghamton will next play this Friday when they travel to the Utica Memorial Auditorium to faceoff against the Comets in the first of four meetings between the teams this season. The contest is slated to start around 7:15p.m. following an extended pregame ceremony honoring former Clinton Comets players, including current Binghamton Senators Executive Vice President of Operations Tom Mitchell.
