Abbotsford Heat News Release

The Chicago Wolves used their high octane power play to ride off with a 5-2 win over the Abbotsford Heat on Saturday night at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre.

The Wolves would score three times on the man advantage, once in the first period off the stick of Andre Deveaux, and in the second courtesy of Nigel Dawes to build a 4-1 lead thru two periods of play. Deveaux would add some insurance in the third period with his second of the night as the Wolves 2nd ranked power play would finish the night 3/8 and hand the Heat their first loss in four games on home ice.

Also scoring for the Wolves were Ryan Garbutt and Angelo Esposito, while Stefan Meyer and Greg Nemisz would provide the scoring on the evening for the Heat, scoring twice on the power play as the Heat would finish the night 2/9.

Leland Irving takes the loss for Abbotsford, who falls to 15-12-0-3 on the season and remains tied for second place in the North Division with the Toronto Marlies, just one point back of the Hamilton Bulldogs for the division lead.

The Heat will wrap up their pre-Christmas schedule with a four game East Coast road trip, beginning Tuesday night in Rochester when they face their North Division foes, the Rochester Americans.
