Wild Recalls Peters

HOUSTON --- Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Warren Peters from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Peters, 28 (7/10/82), has recorded 11 points (4-7=11) and 23 penalty minutes (PIM) in 27 games with Houston this season. The 6-foot, 203-pound native of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan split the 2009-10 season between the Dallas Stars and the Texas Stars (AHL). He tallied one goal and two penalty minutes PIM in 11 games with Dallas and recorded a career-high 34 points (20-14=34) and 52 PIM in 61 games with Texas. Peters was also an alternate captain with the Texas Stars and helped the team reach the Calder Cup Finals, totaling eight points (4-4=8) and 56 PIM in 23 playoff contests. Peters previously played in the NHL in 2008-09, tallying one goal and 12 PIM in 16 games with Calgary.

He was signed as a free agent by Minnesota on July 2, 2010 and will wear sweater No. 43 with the Wild.

Houston begins a run of five road games this Sunday against the Lake Erie Monsters. Faceoff at Quicken Loans Arena is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CST.
